PLEASE do not call or email a vet who’s never seen your animals before, asking for free advice just because you see their phone number or email address here! Make an appointment, take your rats in, get to know the vet, and let the vet get to know your pets. I’ve already had two VERY GOOD vets ask to have their names removed from this list because too many people were calling for advice without wanting to bring their pets in, and they just didn’t have time for it. So please don’t abuse this information and try to take advantage of these vets.

There is an answering service that will make or cancel appointments 24 hrs/day and a doctor on call for follow-up issues. They are only open on Monday and Thursday mornings, but since they specialize in only one type of surgery, they do rat spays and neuters for only $55.

This is an EMERGENCY only practice that sees exotics. This vet was extremely knowledgeable - if he had regular vet hours, I'd definitely see him as my regular vet. I believe they open at 5pm on Friday & are open 24 hours until Monday at 8am; and are open on holidays. And the price is reasonable compared to what we pay for exotics at the regular clinics during regular hours! In fact, I paid less at an ER visit here, including meds, than I paid at my regular vet, including meds!

Natalie M.: This is a regular clinic during normal hours but downstairs is the emergency clinic have used the emergency clinic a few times. They are expensive (as expected) but the staff is very caring and helpful. I have never used the regular clinic.
